Advent and Christmas at Wisdom’s Table!
Rooted in Yearning…
Turning toward Hope
“O, that you would tear open the heavens and come down!” (Isaiah 64:1)
Advent Services, 11:00 am
December 3, 10, 17 and 24
What is it that we yearn for? What is it that our earth and its oppressed people yearn for? What do we need to turn from, to repent of, as we prepare for God’s merciful and just Reign? We reflect together in our worship. And, as we enter into the church building each Sunday, we will participate together in an artistic prayer that gives visual representation to our prayers for healing, restoration and renewal. Come, and be transformed!
Christmas Eve Candle-light Service
and Cookie Reception
Sunday, December 24th, 7:30 p.m.
(Prelude music at 7:15)
After rooting ourselves in our yearning and turning toward the Hope of our Gospel, we come now to celebrate the ways God is already at work in our flesh. On Christmas Eve, we will gather to give thanks to God for the Mystery of the Incarnation. Our joyful service of Word and Sacrament will include festive carols and candle-lighting. And we will have an incredible lineup of talented local musicians to lead us in the celebration. We will follow our worship with a festive social in Kunkel Hall. Come, and invite your friends and family to the celebration! Bring your favorite cookie to share!
