Wisdom’s Table at St. Peter’s UCC

Mark your calendars for our joint Holy Week Worship with Lancaster Theological Seminary! This is the heart of the Christian Year, the great Three Days in which we enter the depths of the Gospel Story and participate in Christ’s death and resurrection.

Maundy Thursday, April 17, 6:00 – Love Feast Service at St. Peter’s

As we enter the story of Jesus’ Passion and remember together his Last Supper with the disciples, we will gather in the Social Hall (bottom level) to share a simple Love Feast potluck. This meaningful meal will be followed by a service of communion and foot-washing (for all who desire to participate).

Good Friday, April 18, 7:00 – Seven Last Words Service at LTS

We will gather in Santee Chapel in the main building of Lancaster Theological Seminary for a “Seven Last Words” service. Come hear gifted preachers reflect on Jesus’ seven last “words” from the cross as recounted by the different Gospel stories.

Holy Saturday, April 19, 8:00 – Easter Vigil Worship at St. Peter’s

Meet in the church lawn for a festive procession to the sanctuary, as we greet the light of the Resurrection with this dynamic service of Word, Baptism and Eucharist.

Easter Breakfast, April 20, 9:30 – Breakfast in Kunkel Hall

Easter Day Worship, April 20, 11:00 – Festival Worship

Come join the community of faith for a celebratory breakfast, followed by our Easter Day worship. Lift your “Alleluias!” high with the assembled people of the Living Christ!

Wisdom has built her house,
she has hewn her seven pillars…
She has mixed her wine,
she has also set her table…
She calls from the highest places in the town…
“Come, eat of my bread
and drink of the wine I have mixed.
Lay aside your simplistic ways and live!”

(Proverbs 9:1-6)
